Official Maztica Products

The following products are all of the official Maztica products found on DMsGuild.  Other products that have brief mentions are not included.  The Maztica Trilogy of novels is not sold on DMsGuild, but used copies can be found elsewhere on the net.

I have included short overviews of each supplement.

The Maztica Campaign Set by Douglas Niles and Tim Beach

The original boxed set published in June 1991 and written by Douglas Niles.  This boxed set contains three main books, the 96-page Journey to the True World that has reference information for the setting and Maztica's history; a volume called Maztica Alive!, which describes regions of Maztica, its climate and terrain, information on the afterlife, an adventure, and new monsters.  The third and final 32-page volume, Gods and Battles, describes Maztican divinities and contains maps.

FMA1 Fires of Zatal by Jeff Grubb and Tim Beach

The first full length adventure set in Maztica brings the PCs into the blasted lands of Nexal where the Viperhand reigns, in order to find the fabled relic known as the Cloak of One Plume at the behest of a noble of New Amn.  Players will have to brave the fires of the volcano Zatal, source of the dreaded Darkfyre.

FMA2 Endless Armies by Jeff Grubb

The second full length adventure set in Maztica brings the players up against a tribe of ant-like guardians at the behest of the power hungry Mirandos of Helm.  What the ant-folk guard however could be a threat to the whole of the True World.  Beware the great Star Worm!

FMQ1 City of Gold by John Nephew and Jonathan Tweet

While this is a Maztica product and certainly the adventure portion begins there, this book could easily be considered the first campaign supplement for the northern realms of Anchôromé.  In the adventure, the players are needed to help defeat a terrible fiend that prevents the northern folk known as the Azuposi from performing their most sacred rituals.  An entire new pantheon of the deity-like Great Spirits is introduced along with a ton of cultural information on the local human populations.  Even new character "kits" are offered for players who want to make local characters like the koyemshi clown.

The Maztica Trilogy: Ironhelm, Viperhand and The Feathered Dragon by Douglas Niles

The three novels that constitute the Maztica Trilogy follow Cordell, an Amnian general as he travels to the True World of Maztica to plunder its riches and attempt to subjugate its people.  One of his soldiers named Halloran joins with a native woman named Erixitl to stop the series of events Cordell's coming has set into motion in the True World.  Even the gods of Maztica are involved in these epic adventures and the Plumed Dragon Qotal returns to his people.
